LHP Thomas Nelson enters his second season as a professional after signing with the Boomers on May 3rd, 2012.
Nelson, 24, is a six-foot left-hander who appeared in six games with Boomers owners Pat and Lindy Salvi’s other minor league baseball club, the Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association late in the 2011 season and threw four innings for the ‘Cats.
The Chico, California native began his professional career in 2011 with the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League. Nelson appeared in four games with the Invaders, allowing just one run on two hits.
