Eric Holmes, 23, joined the Boomers as a rookie free agent on May 26. The left-hander out of Bradley University has experience as both a starter and reliever. Holmes started four games as both a junior and senior at Bradley and logged over 35 innings of work each season over 25 career appearances.
Holmes spent two seasons at Bradley after transferring from Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa. The Wilton, Iowa native set career records for wins and innings at DMACC, helping the team to the NJCAA World Series in both 2008 and 2009. Holmes set a school record for wins as a sophomore, posting a 10-3 mark in 14 appearances.
