Adam Tollefson

Lefty reliever Adam Tollefson joined the Boomers as a free agent on July 27 after spending much of 2013 with the El Paso Diablos of the American Association.

The 26-year old left-hander has spent the past five years in independent baseball including the second half of last season with the Boomers and three with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks where he was part of two championship teams. 

Tollefson opened his pro career with the White Sox organization in 2007 with Bristol of the Appalachian League, pitching in 17 games and striking out 43 in 37.2 innings of work. The Evansville, Ind. native then opened his indy career in the Frontier League with the River City Rascals in 2008, pitching in 23 games with a pair of starts. Helping Fargo to Northern League titles in 2009 and 2010, Tollefson pitched over 50 games out of the bullpen.

Last season, Tollefson posted his best ERA since his first year at 3.19, saving three games and finishing 15 in posting a 1-3 record in 41 relief appearances, matching a career best from 2010. Tollefson owns 174 career strikeouts in 175.1 innings of work.
