The Schaumburg Boomers signed RHP Shane Prance as a free agent on June 14, 2012. 

After spending four years at Purdue University North Central, the six-foot-three Portage, Ind. native finished his best collegiate season with a 2.99 ERA, three saves, and 95 strikeouts. Prance’s 10.14 strikeouts per nine innings in 2012 ranked 28th nationally.

Prance was named NAIA National Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 29th, 2011, following a ten strikeout no-hitter for the Panthers. The righty has twice been named Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the week for his efforts with PNC.
