Ed McCaskey joined the Schaumburg Boomers in September 2011 as the Director of Media Relations. He comes to the Boomers after spending the 2010 season with the Gary SouthShore RailCats in the same capacity. McCaskey is excited to begin his fourth season in professional baseball and help build the Boomers brand.

McCaskey is no stranger to the sports industry. Prior to his time with the RailCats, he served as the Director of Media for the now defunct Coastal Bend Thunder near Corpus Christi, Texas. He also worked in the offices of the National Football League as a summer intern, as well as a Sports Information Assistant at Wheaton College and a Chicago Bears Ball Boy. McCaskey also boasts a solid baseball playing career, having pitched both at Loyola Academy in Wilmette and Wheaton College, where as a senior he played home games at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium. He is also currently the single season saves record holder at Wheaton.

Originally from Lake Forest, IL, McCaskey currently makes his home in Glen Ellyn. He is without question the biggest Bears fan in the office. Even after his experiences in many different facets of the sports industry, McCaskey relishes working in minor league baseball because it is anything but boring.
