Boomers Sign LHP Kyle Cedotal

SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, have signed LHP Kyle Cedotal.

Cedotal, 24, will make his first appearance in a Boomers uniform this upcoming 2018 season. Cedotal previously pitched for the Boise Hawks of the Northwest League for two years after being drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2016. During his time with the Hawks, the lefty appeared in 39 games pitching 74 innings and posting a 3.75 ERA with 47 strikeouts and a 1-4 record with Boise.

Cedotal is from Baton Rouge, LA where he attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA playing on the baseball team as both a pitcher and an outfielder. Cedotal was a four year starter for the Lions where he had a collegiate career 3.06 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. He also earned national recognition earning Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball after pitching a complete game on opening day of the college season, allowing just 2 hits and 14 strikeouts against UL-Monroe his senior year. The Louisiana native also pitched and played outfield for the Acadiana Cane Cutters of the Texas Collegiate League in 2013 and pitched for the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod League in 2015. He had a combined 2.26 ERA and .985 WHIP in his two years pitching with both clubs.

The Boomers 2018 season, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, begins May 11. The Home Opener is Tuesday, May 15 vs. Southern Illinois.
