Schaumburg Boomers to Host IHSA Sectional

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers will play host to both the semifinals and finals of the Schaumburg Sectional as part of the IHSA Boys Class 4A State Championship Tournament, it was announced today.

With the Boomers scheduled for an 11 a.m. matchup against the London Rippers on Wednesday, May 30, Boomers Stadium is set for triple-header baseball actionwith a pair of games under the lights to determine Saturday’s matchup.

In the first game of the IHSA schedule on Wednesday, Willowbrook, the 13-seed, will square off against the 16-seed Bartlett. Bartlett advanced to the sectional semifinals after defeating Streamwood 4-3 in the first round, knocking off the number one seed Geneva 2-0 in the Regional semifinals and beating Lake Park 5-3 in theRegional Finals. Willowbrook defeated Wheaton North 6-1 and knocked off Addison Trail 4-1.

The prime-time matchup at features Schaumburg High School taking on St. Charles East at 7 p.m. Ten-Seed Schaumburg H.S. claimed a pair of one-run victories, eliminating York 4-3 and St. Charles North 2-1 while St. Charles East knocked off Hoffman Estates 5-0 and Glenbard East 5-3 to advance to Wednesday’s semifinal.

The winners of both games will square off in the Schaumburg Sectional Final at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2 with the Schaumburg Boomers on the road in Marion Illinois to take on the Southern Illinois Miners.
