5/31 Game Preview: Boomers vs. Rippers

The Schaumburg Boomers and London Rippers are set to square off at Boomers Stadium this evening with LHP Cameron Roth on the hill for the home team opposed by the Rippers RHP Jamie Richmond. For the latest updates on game status, please visit www.boomersbaseball.com.

The first series between the Frontier League’s two newest teams saw Schaumburg steal a win late, scoring five times in the eighth to stop London. The Rippers twice held two-run leads and the Boomers totaled just two hits entering the inning against London starter Sheng-An Kuo.

Andrew Cohn tripled to right on the first pitch he saw to tie the score and Nick Kuroczko single put Schaumburg ahead for good. Robby Donovan posted his longest start of the season with a seven-inning effort and became the first Boomer to post a double-digit strikeout game with a 10k performance.

The Boomers are 7-1 against the East Division so far in 2012 and look to make it 8-1 with a victory today over the Rippers.
