Homestand Concludes with Family Day

Manager Jamie Bennett made a few tweaks that paid off last night in a 6-5 win over the West Division leading River City Rascals. Changing the final two hitters in the batting order resulted in all six RBIs, five combined hits, and two runs scored as Sean Mahley and Nate Baumann responded.

Mahley drove home a franchise record four runs including the first run of the game as well as the go ahead run in the sixth. The rookie used all fields. Nate Baumann hit ninth and connected on three hits, all for extra bases. Baumann homered in the second, his second of the season, and added an RBI double in eighth that ended up being the deciding run. Every member of the lineup reached base at least once in the victory.

Patrick Mincey shut the door in the ninth to earn his third save, entering following a two-run homer to bring the Rascals within a run.

The Boomers have yet to lose back-to-back games at home and will try and take the rubber game of the series today with RHP Robby Donovan (2-1, 4.30) on the hill.
