Boomers Blow Away RiverHawks 11-0
LOVES PARK, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers used a pair of two-run homers and a solid outing from Cameron Roth on the hill to shutout the Rockford RiverHawks 11-0 on Monday and win the road series.

Roth (8-4) extended his scoreless streak to 17.1 innings by tossing eight blank frames. Roth, who threw eight blank frames in a 1-0 win over Joliet on Wednesday, retired 10 in a row from the third through the sixth. The lefty allowed just four hits and struck out four in the win, the eighth of the season in shutout fashion by the Boomers.

Schaumburg scored in five different innings, taking advantage of three errors in the first for an unearned tally to open a 1-0 lead. The run marked the first time in the series that Schaumburg scored first. Jereme Milons blasted a two-run homer in the second to extend the lead. Milons drove home three runs in the game, as did Frank Pfister, who added an RBI-single in the second and a two-run double in the sixth. Steve McQuail connected on his 11th homer of the year in the sixth inning, also a two-run shot. Eight different individuals posted hits for the Boomers, who totaled 13 in the game.

A six-game roadtrip continues in Kentucky on Tuesday with a 6:05 p.m. game against the Florence Freedom. RHP Alex Rivers (2-1, 4.50) starts for Schaumburg against RHP Alec Lewis (3-6, 4.74).
