SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers welcome Desi Fest 2012 presented by the Desi Times to Boomers Stadium, located at 1999 Springinsguth Road from 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 22.

An all-day event, Desi Fest 2012 brings together the cultures of India and Pakistan for guests to experience through food, jewelry, clothes, beauty pageants, fireworks and other entertainment. One of the festival’s biggest highlights will be the world’s largest mural on canvas envisioned by event promoter Monty Saived and created by Indian artist Aejaz Saived.

Local vendors will feature their merchandise in a fun-filled festival complete with dance performances and other entertainment for the little ones, including kids rides and of course, delicious authentic Indian and Pakistani food. The evening will also be highlighted by live music on stage by celebrities from both India and Pakistan before a live fireworks display will close out the evening.
