“This latest enhancement is all about our fans, allowing them for the first time in Schaumburg to see themselves up on the big screen and feel more a part of the action and entertainment than ever before,” said Boomers President and General Manager Andy Viano. “Plus it brings our great corporate partners’ messages to the big screen night in and night out. This is great news for Boomers fans as we keep our pledge to make a Boomers game the best value and experience in Chicagoland!”

The video portion of the new board will measure 28 feet wide by 15 feet 11.2 inches tall, encompass roughly 450 square feet and replace the existing manual scoreboard in left field at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

“We think the new video scoreboard is an excellent addition and it’s another great example of the team investing in the stadium and doing things right for our community and fans of baseball everywhere,” Schaumburg Village Manager Ken Fritz said.

The entire structure covers almost 1,000 square feet with the videoboard in the center, surrounded by four sponsor signs and an LED scoreboard below. The HD quality video will come from approximately 290,000 individual LED’s capable of producing 281 trillion colors, and the 1200:1 contrast ratio board will also broadcast with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with the unquestioned leader in video technology, Daktronics, on this project and owe a great deal of gratitude to Bob Masewicz and Total Sports Entertainment as well for their efforts in making this vision of ours a reality,” Viano added.
