Open House April 7, MLB All-Star to Join Staff

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — As if single-game tickets weren’t enough to encourage Schaumburg Boomers fans to head down to Schaumburg Boomers Stadium on Saturday, April 7 at noon, the Boomers have added a free Open House complete with an Easter Egg Hunt, prizes, free food, tours, baseball and a special announcement.

A former Major Leaguer with strong Chicago ties will be introduced as a member of the Boomers coaching staff at the event open to the public from noon to 3 p.m. in the Schaumburg Club at 1999 S. Springinsguth Road in Schaumburg. The first chance for fans to buy single-game tickets, the Boomers will turn the day into a preseason celebration of the club’s Inaugural Season.

The Boomers ticket window will open at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 and all fans are welcome to join Coop the Boomer and the rest of the Boomers staff upstairs in the Schaumburg Club at this free event open to the public. The opportunity to purchase Boomers single-game tickets is just one of the highlights of the afternoon, as fans can enter to win some great prizes from the Boomers, sample some free, award-winning cuisine from Levy Restaurants and receive guided tours of the ongoing renovations to Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

With eggs, candy and some special Boomers related prizes, the Boomers Inaugural Easter Egg Hunt will commence at 1:30 p.m. and those looking to participate need to bring their own basket. Then at 2:30 p.m. the Boomers will introduce the newest member of their 2012 coaching staff, a two-time Major League All-Star with a Chicago connection!

Boomers Stadium will also feature free baseball on this day, with a doubleheader between Wheaton College and North Park University scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch. Baseball will also be on the televisions in the Schaumburg Club with the Chicago Cubs scheduled to take on the Washington Nationals at noon so join the Boomers in celebrating as we get closer to the first Opening Night is franchise history. Update: Wheaton College has completed construction on their new home in Carol Stream and will be hosting the doubleheader at their facility.
