The Boomers will introduce their all-new brand of world-class customer service, gut-busting in-game entertainment, highest quality food and beverages from restaurant partner Levy Restaurants, a safe, family-first environment and of course, dynamite baseball action for the first time during Opening Weekend, which kicks off with the first-ever Opening Night in franchise history at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25.

“Our entire staff has been working tirelessly in preparation for Opening Night and the rest of the 2012 season and we can’t wait to open the gates and show all of Chicagoland what we have in store for them,” Boomers President/General Manager Andy Viano said. “Every night at Boomers Stadium we’ll put a smile on every face, and these awesome promotions make it certain that every Boomers fan will go home happy.”

Every Boomers game features free parking and the ability for fans of all ages to run the bases after the game, and Opening Night will be a celebration of baseball’s triumphant return to Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs. The Boomers will power-on their new Daktronics HD videoboard giving Schaumburg fans a chance to be caught on the fan cam for the first time. The Boomers will also give away an Orange T-Shirt to the first 4,000 fans to “Orange Out” the ballpark, 3,500 magnet schedules and introduce the world to all the fun and excitement that is Boomers Baseball with fireworks after the game, performed by Melrose Pyrotechnics.

World-renowned competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi stops by the very next night on Saturday, May 26 for the Boomers 6 p.m. game. In addition to Kobayashi signing autographs and displaying his eating prowess, the Boomers will be celebrating Opening Weekend with a one-of-a-kind Prairie Chicken Helmet Giveaway for the first 1,500 fans through the gates, presented by Wintrust Community Banks.

The Boomers will also take the opportunity during Opening Weekend to honor the men and women of our armed forces with an extra group discount on top of the already affordable group prices on Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, May 27 with a special 6:30 p.m. start time so we can spoil you with the second set of Fireworks on Opening Weekend. The Boomers will give away camouflage backpacks to the first 1,500 fans and dedicate the evening to our veterans and active military personnel.

“The Boomers are happy to bring minor league baseball entertainment staples to Schaumburg in 2012,” said Boomers VP of Marketing & Promotions Dave Salvi. “Each year, however, will have its own flavor and it is important for our fans to enjoy the great traditions at a first-class rate, while getting something a little different year after year. We strive toward innovative and creative promotional initiatives, and believe the fans will positively respond. We want you to expect only great things when you come to Boomers Stadium!”

The fun doesn’t stop on Opening Weekend with the Boomers jam-packed month of June highlighted by a visit from some of your favorite Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion on Star Wars Night on Friday, June 15. The Boomers will also host a special Father’s Day game of catch with dad on the field after the game on Sunday, June 17. Ladies, we have a special night just for you, so bring your friends out for Wine, Women and Baseball on Thursday, June 7 as the Boomers cater an evening especially for you!

The excitement continues as the Boomers ask you to help set a world record with an attempt at the World’s Largest Squirt Gun Fight on Sunday, July 8 and don’t worry if you don’t want to partake in all the water fun, we will have a designated no squirt zone! Join the Boomers mascot Coop and other area mascots for Coop’s Birthday on Saturday, July 14 and come on back on Friday, July 27 for Olympics Night as we have a special Boomers style Opening Ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics!

Whether you’re from Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Arlington Heights, Wheaton, or Elgin, it pays to represent your hometown on Tuesdays at Boomers Stadium.

Calling all teachers, principals and school kids! What better way to celebrate a year of hard work and learning than with a field trip to Boomers Stadium for one of our two 11 a.m. Kids Days on Tuesday, May 29 and Wednesday May 30! Once the summer kicks into gear, the Boomers have a pair of Day Camp Days for kids groups that meet during the school offseason with an 11 a.m. scheduled first pitch on both Monday, June 25 and Wednesday, July 18.
