SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers open their sophomore campaign at beautiful Boomers Stadium on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30 pm as Chicagoland’s premier minor league baseball team announced their complete 96-game schedule today.

Boomers Baseball is a can’t miss in 2013 with 12 fireworks nights including every Friday home game, Saturday, August 3 and Thursday, September 5. Plan to celebrate your Independence Day Holiday week with us with three consecutive days of everyone’s favorite colorful explosives as the Boomers square off against the reigning Frontier League Champion Southern Illinois Miners at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd and Thursday, July 4 and go toe-to-toe with the River City Rascals on Friday, July 5 at 6:30 p.m. for this three-day tribute to our nation’s freedom! 

“The countdown to Opening Day is now officially underway and we can’t wait to get another season started!” said Boomers President/GM Andy Viano. “After such a memorable 2012, it’s great that we’re now able to provide even more value for our passionate fans, with three more home dates and three additional fireworks shows, all for the same low prices and free parking those great fans deserve. This is just the beginning of what we have planned so be prepared for an experience like no other in minor league baseball beginning on May 16!”

In 2013, games on Monday through Friday will again be scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with Saturday contests again a half hour earlier at 6 p.m. Sunday afternoon games are back once again in 2013 with the Boomers regular first pitch time set for 1 p.m. on most Sundays with three 4 p.m. exceptions on June 2, June 23 and July 28. All game times are subject to change and the Boomers are thrilled to announce a few additional start time exceptions to put on your calendar now.

Boomers Day Camp Days are back again after a successful 2012 debut with two dates for campers – Wednesday, June 19 at 11 a.m. and Tuesday, July 23 at 11 a.m. The game on July 23rd is the first leg of a split doubleheader with Game Two of the double dip against the Florence Freedom slated for the regular Tuesday start time at 6:30 p.m. Rounding out the special start times is Kids’ Day with an 11 a.m. first pitch on Wednesday, May 29 with all area schools invited to send their kids to park for an afternoon of fun in the sun after another productive year in the classroom.

Just as in 2012, Schaumburg has 12 scheduled contests with the rival Joliet Slammers with six games at each club’s home park. The Boomers also play nine times against the Evansville Otters, River City Rascals, Rockford RiverHawks and Traverse City Beach Bums nine times with the Bums and RiverHawks making two stops in Schaumburg and the Boomers playing six times in Evansville and River Citty. The Boomers play six games apiece with each of the remaining Frontier League Teams.

With free parking at every game and tickets starting at just $7, the Boomers are the most affordable entertainment option for families again in 2013. The Boomers 96-game schedule features 51 home games at Boomers Stadium, which is conveniently located right off the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway at Springinsguth Road and just west of I-290.
