Boomers, RailCats Exhibition LIVE ON FOX NEWS

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – The two Chicagoland teams owned by prominent Chicago attorney Pat Salvi and his wife Lindy squared off at Boomers Stadium Tuesday morning for an exhibition game with Patrick Elwood of Good Day Chicago joining the Boomers squad live on Fox 32 Chicago.

Elwood and the crew from Fox returned to Schaumburg for a second time this spring, but with the sun shining and no snow to be found, helped the Boomers kick off their home exhibition schedule in style by taking a few swings during BP, signing a contract to join the Boomers and taking a real-live at-bat against Boomers RHP Mike Giovenco.

After the appearing live of Fox News, there was still a game to play, which the RailCats claimed by a final score of 4-1. A broken bat single from Eric Barnes accounted for the only run batted in on the day for the Boomers as the RailCats pitchers held Schaumburg to just four total hits.

The Boomers starter, Fenwick High School and North Park University alum Mike Giovenco, allowed just one hit over his three innings of work with a trio of strikeouts. The Chicago native also retired the first eight RailCats batters. Chris Phelan surrendered one hit in two innings of scoreless relief. Scott Hays took the loss for the Boomers after allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with two walks, a hit batter and a pair of strikeouts over his two innings of work. The RailCats tied the game in the sixth and took the lead in the seventh off Hays. Dan Lazzoroni threw a scoreless eighth and Delvin Perez gave up two runs in the ninth.

The Boomers take on the Windy City ThunderBolts at Boomers Stadium on 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon for the second home exhibition game of the Spring. Catch all the action live on the Boomers Ustream Channel and check out the EVENT Schedule for the complete Exhibition Schedule!
