Boomers and ThunderBolts Postponed

CRESTWOOD, Ill. — Due to the forecast of severe storms in the Chicago area tonight, the scheduled Frontier League contest between the Schaumburg Boomers and Windy City ThunderBolts at Standard Bank Stadium has been postponed.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday night. Both games will be seven innings in length with the first contest commencing at 6:05 p.m.

The rainout is the second of the season for the Boomers, who were postponed just once in the inaugural 2012 campaign. Schaumburg owns a 2-2 mark in doubleheaders this season, which includes a scheduled double at Florence early in the season, and sits 3-3 overall. The Boomers have two more scheduled doubleheaders on the calendar this season.

The scheduled pitching matchups for the contests will be LHP Danny Jimenez (1-2, 4.66) and RHP Chris Phelan (2-0, 2.66) for the Boomers against RHP Travis Strong (0-3, 7.32) and RHP Travis Tingle (0-1, 4.37) for Windy City.
