Boomers Put on Offensive Display in Win

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — The Schaumburg Boomers bundled the runs in bunches with a 10-4 rout of the Traverse City Beach Bums in Game Two of the three game set Wednesday.

Schaumburg plated runs in four different innings Wednesday night including three innings with two or more runs scored. The Boomers matched a franchise record with 16 hits in a game in the victory over the Bums. 

Brian McConkey put together a career night with a 4-for-5 evening including three doubles and Alexi Colon hit his third homerun of the season in his 3-for-4 night, with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Boomers. 

Schaumburg and Traverse City will square off in the rubber match of this three game series Thursday night with a 6:05 first pitch. RHP Chris Phelan (3-0, 1.89) will take the hill for the Boomers against RHP Johnny Omahen (2-3, 6.06).

The Boomers will be back at Boomers Stadium on July 2 to open up a six-game homestand against the Southern Illinois Miners.
