SCHAUMBURG, Ill - It was a pitching duel from the start as the Schaumburg Boomers sent Matt Kuna and his 2.01 ERA to the mound to square off against one of the Frontier League's best arms. Going into the night, Traverse City's Scott Dunn had an unblemished 9-0 record to go with his 2.19 ERA. The Beach Bums won out in the end, plating the only runs in a 4-0 game.

Traverse City scored on a solo home run in the second inning and added three insurance runs in the ninth, which proved to be more than enough to stymie Schaumburg.

Chad Mozingo and Jordan Dean each had two hits, and Kuna took the unlucky loss for the Boomers after working six innings of one-run, four-hit ball.
