SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Join the Boomers and Northwest Community Healthcare for Cancer Survivor’s Night on Friday, August 16 as we celebrate the strength and courage of those fighting the disease as well as the support of their families and friends.

Prior to the Boomers game against the Traverse City Beach Bums, NCH will lead an on-field parade at 5:45 p.m. for cancer survivors, their families and friends. Participants in the parade are encouraged to come early, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium located at 1999 South Springinsguth Road, in Schaumburg.  In addition, prior to the 6:30 contest, representatives from NCH will share a few words with the crowd and throw out ceremonial first pitches.

There will also be a couple of ways to take home one of the special pink jerseys worn by the Boomers players and coaches during the game with a silent auction throughout the game, a raffle and live auction post-game. Proceeds will go to charity to aid in the fight against cancer.

Throughout the ballgame, NCH experts will be on hand with information and resources about the cancer care services and treatment options available at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

After the game, the Boomers will treat guests to a fantastic Fireworks show presented by US 99.5 FM and everyone is invited down to the diamond to run the bases after the game!
