Boomers Drop Second Straight to Rockford

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers dropped their second consecutive 4-1 decision to the Rockford Aviators on Wednesday night.

Steve McQuail’s 16th homer of the season put the Boomers in front in the bottom of the second inning. Rockford immediately answered in the top of third, striking for three runs against starter Mike Giovenco and adding another in the sixth. Giovenco suffered the loss, working 5.1 innings and allowing four runs. Schaumburg struggled against Rockford starter Nick Anderson, who worked seven and struck out eight. Schaumburg managed just four hits, two from Brian McConkey.
