Boomers Host Contest for On-Field Emcee

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- WANTED: a fun, outgoing, energetic individual to serve as the On-Field Emcee of the 2014 Schaumburg Boomers, and enhance the in-game experience at Boomers Stadium, the home of the 2013 Frontier League Champion and Organization of the Year. Show us your stuff with a 60 second YouTube video, and you could have the coolest summer job ever!

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what creative, energetic and motivated person will stand out and have the opportunity to showcase their talents at Boomers games next summer,” Boomers President/General Manager Andy Viano said.Our on-field emcee is a critical piece of the wacky, laugh-out-loud fun our fans have come to expect at Boomers games, so show us your stuff if you think you’re the one to put a smile on every fan’s face every night!”

If you think you have what it takes to be the on-field voice of the Frontier League Champion Boomers, now is the chance to show us your stuff! Interested parties should refer to the complete job description below, and submit a 60-second YouTube video to Mike Kline at [email protected]. The Boomers will begin accepting submissions immediately.

The On-Field Emcee is the primary face and voice of the Schaumburg Boomers at all 51 home games, and will work closely with the Boomers front office staff and Public Address Announcer to create a memorable experience for each and every fan through the gates at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium. Candidates must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and passionate about the in-game experience of Boomers Baseball.

The Boomers are looking for a strong vocal talent with excellent enunciation skills, strong public speaking and improvisation skills and the ability to speak extemporaneously to large crowds. Those interested in entering must be prepared to work at all 51 Boomers regular season home games and any playoff games.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Comfortable speaking in front of large crowds
  2. Great sense of humor
  3. Ability to understand game scripts and adapt quickly to changes
  4. Bring a creative mind to the role and help to brainstorm new ideas to keep the Boomers on-field entertainment fresh and fun
  5. Ability to commit to all 51 Boomers home games
  6. Ability to move around the ballpark to meet all promotional and activation requirements
  7. Ability to engage and interact with fans
  8. Must come with a wide repertoire of cheers and other fan engagement techniques
  9. Serve as an ambassador of Boomers Baseball and its boundless family-friendly and affordable fun
  10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Schaumburg Boomers are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate individual to be the voice and face of the franchise as the On-Field Emcee for the 2014 season.  The individual will be an integral part of the in-game entertainment experience at Boomers Stadium, and must show creativity and initiative in coming up with daily crowd interaction, engagement, entertainment, and promotions. 

The Boomers are looking for a strong vocal talent with excellent enunciation skills, strong public speaking and improvisation skills and the ability to speak extemporaneously to large crowds. Must be able to work nights and weekends in accordance with the game schedule.
