Boomers Mascot to Visit Local Children's Hospitals

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--Coop the Boomer, the official ambassador of the 2013 Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, has a visit planned to Alexian Brothers Women's and Children's Hospital next Tuesday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m., to spread some holiday cheer and bring Boomers gifts to area children in honor of the holiday season.

Coop and a member of the team’s front office staff will stop by to visit patients in the children’s hospital to pose for pictures, deliver presents, and put smiles on faces. The Boomers, winners of the Frontier League Championship in 2013, look to share that winning joy during this holiday season. Of course, the Championship Trophy will also be making the rounds with Coop.

“There is really nothing more rewarding for us than to have the opportunity to bring smiles to the faces of those who really need it around the holidays,” Boomers President/General Manager Andy Viano said. “We love our hometown of Schaumburg and our neighbots throughout the Northwest Suburbs, and any time we can show our appreciation to all of the people who so thoroughly support the Boomers and our family, we’ll be there.”

This Christmas marks the second year of hospital visits for Coop and the Boomers, and the first of several visits planned this holiday season.
