RHP SETH WEBSTER

Webster, 24, was sensational in a Boomers uniform after signing with Schaumburg in July out of Louisiana College. In 11 games for Jamie Bennett and the Boomers, Webster went 6-1 with a sparkling 2.40 ERA in 75 innings pitched during the regular season. The sidewinder surrendered just 63 hits while collecting 52 strikeouts against just 13 walks. Webster made two starts for Schaumburg in the playoffs allowing five runs over 9.1 innings with five strikeouts and one walk.

Webster spent six years in college baseball after sitting out all but one game in 2009 and 2010 with an arm injury. The towering 6’5” pitcher started his career with Nicholls State University, tossing an incredible season for the Colonels in 2011 after bouncing back from the injury by going 7-3 with a 2.31 ERA. The righty followed up that effort with a 6-5 campaign with a 4.72 ERA, including four complete games and a streak of 14 scoreless innings.

But Webster saved his best effort for last, pitching for Division III Louisiana College in 2013 and going 10-3 with a 1.77 ERA, four shutouts, and a school-record 11 complete games to lead the nation. This sensational season earned him American Southwest Conference Pitcher of the Year honors to cap off his career.

RHP ERIK SHANNAHAN

Shannahan, 22, signs with Schaumburg having finished out his college career at Missouri State University. The 6-foot-3 righty made 32 appearances for the Bears collecting a 3-1 record, three saves and 39 strikeouts with a 2.51 ERA in 38.1 innings pitched.

Shannahan began at the University of Arkansas before transferring to John A. Logan College in Carterville, Ill. His best season was by far the 2010 campaign when Shannahan boasted a 3.24 ERA with four complete games and an 8-2 record over 66.2 innings pitched for the Vols.

RHP ANTHONY SMITH

Smith, 24, begins his third season in the independent professional ranks and first with the Boomers after spending 2012 and part of 2013 with the Trinidad Triggers of the Pecos League and the rest of 2013 with the El Paso Diablos of the American Association. Last year, the 6-foot-4 right-hander earned a 4-3 record and 2.89 ERA over 53 innings pitched with 39 strikeouts against just 5 walks.

Smith began his college career at California State University Stanislaus and finished his final two years at Eastern New Mexico University. At ENMU, Smith split time as a reliever and a starter compiling a 9-2 record and 12 saves in 95 innings with a 4.74 ERA and 80 strikeouts over two seasons. As a freshman in 2008 at Cal State-Stanislaus, Smith went 2-0 with a 4.56 ERA and 19 strikeouts for the Warriors.
