Boomers on the Lookout for Host Families

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. The Schaumburg Boomers are searching for residents of Chicago’s northwest suburbs to become part of the club’s Host Family Program, housing a Boomers player for the summer and getting free season tickets along with other great perks! The responsibilities are minimal for the chance to build a bond with a Boomers player that can last a lifetime.

BECOME A HOST FAMILY NOW!

All families are asked to provide is a separate, private bedroom and bathroom for their host player; otherwise everything else is up to the players themselves. In exchange for participating in the program, host families receive two season tickets for 2014 – which include invitations to season ticket holder exclusive events and season ticket holder only discounts at the ballpark.

Not sure if you want to commit to a houseguest for the entire season? The Boomers are also seeking Host Families for Spring Training—a two to three week commitment beginning Monday, April 28. A limited number of Spring Training opportunities are available, with a proportionate package of Boomers tickets in return.

In most cases, very strong bonds are made between the player and his host family, as well as with the player’s family. Some host families have found it easier to house two players as they travel to the park together and can keep each other company! Previous host families have included traditional two-parent families, single-parent families and “empty-nesters.” All that’s really required is a willingness to help a player pursue his dream by providing a good home.

Those interested in becoming a Boomers Host Family should visit www.boomersbaseball.com and fill out the application on the Host Families Page found under the “Clubhouse” heading. There are two ways to apply, either fill out the application form online or print off a hard copy and follow the instructions on the bottom of the application.
