SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — 2013 Frontier League Manager of the Year Jamie Bennett and the 2013 Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, acquired former Boston Red Sox prospect Charle Rosario via trade and agreed to terms with former Oakland Athletics farmhand Kayvon Bahramzadeh and prior Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Denver Chavez, it was announced today.

Rosario, 25, brings seven seasons of professional experience with him to Schaumburg including two with Double-A Portland Sea Dogs in the Red Sox organization. The 5-foot-10 right-hander signed with the Red Sox as an international free agent in 2007 at the age of 18 and owns a 24-12 record with a 4.11 ERA over 383.1 career innings. The Boomers acquired the right-hander in a trade for future considerations with Quebec in the Independent Can-Am League, where Rosario went 0-2 with a 3.78 ERA in 33.1 inings in 2013.

Bahramzadeh, 24, joins the Boomers after making 24 appearances including 10 starts as a member of the Oakland Athletics organization. A 24th round selection in the 2012 MLB First Year Player Draft, the Tucson, Ariz. native earned a 5.37 ERA with 62 strikeouts against just 11 walks with a 2-3 record.

Chavez, 23, played one season in the Arizona Diamondbacks system after being selected in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB First Year Player Entry Draft. A standout at California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), Chavez appeared in 155 games as a member of the Mustangs and earned a .314/.402/.398 slash line.

With the additions of Bahramzadeh and Chavez, the Boomers officially have 30 players signed to contracts for the 2014 season. The latest additions will join outfielders Alexi Colon, Bobby Martin, Matt Petrone, Nick Schulz, Justin Vasquez and Zac Zdanowicz; pitchers Hunter Ackerman, Gilbert BarraraJames Bierlein, Cal Bowling, Max Duval, Seafth HoweDanny Jimenez, Clark LabitanMatt Lamothe, Dexter Price, Erik Shannahan, Anthony Smith and Seth Webster; catchers Michael Valadez, Ty Nelson and Cody Coffman; and infielders Jordan Dean, Brian McConkey, Ryan Normoyle, Tyler Sciacca and Cameron Sherrer on what will be a maximum 34-man roster when Spring Training opens on May 1 at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg.

RHP CHARLE ROSARIO

The 5-foot-10 righty signed with the Red Sox as an international free agent in 2007 at the age of 18 and owns a 24-12 record with a 4.11 ERA over 383.1 career innings.

His best season came in three stops in 2009 where, combined between GCL Red Sox, the Lowell Spinners of the New York-Penn League and the Greenville Drive of the South Atlantic League, Rosario posted a sparkling 2.37 ERA over 38 innings with 36 stirkoutes and just seven walks.

The Boomers acquired the Dominican Republic native in a trade for future considerations with Les Capitales de Quebec in the Independent Can-Am League, where Rosario went 0-2 with a 3.78 ERA in 33.1 innings in 2013.

RHP KAYVON BAHRAMZADEH

Bahramzadeh, 24, joins the Boomers after making 24 appearances including 10 starts as a member of the Oakland Athletics organization. A 24th round selection in the 2012 MLB First Year Player Draft, the Tucson, Ariz. native earned a 5.37 ERA with 62 strikeouts against just 11 walks with a 2-3 record.

Prior to turning pro, Bahramzadeh played collegiately for Kansas State University. Over his four-year career, the 6-foot-2 right-hander made 60 appearances and 36 starts with a 14-8 record and a 5.46 ERA in 206 innings pitched. Bahramzadeh racked up 185 strikeouts against 65 walks as a member of the Wildcats baseball team.

Bahramzadeh was also drafted out of high school in the 47th round in the 2008 draft by the Milwaukee Brewers out of Catalina Foothills High School where he went 6-2 with a 1.03 ERA and 85 strikeouts as a senior to lead his team to a league championship. 

IF DENVER CHAVEZ

Chavez, 23, played one season in the Arizona Diamondbacks system after being selected in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB First Year Player Entry Draft. The 5-foot-8 infielder appeared in 28 games and earned a .200/.301./300 stat line between Missoula in the Pioneer League and Low-A Hillsboro in the Northwest League. 

A standout at California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), Chavez appeared in 155 games as a member of the Mustangs and earned a .314/.402/.398 slash line. The Santa Barbara, Calif. native collected 160 hits including 24 doubles, five triples and earned 79 free passes in college.
