Boomers and Cook County Farm Bureau to Host Food Drive

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- The 2013 Organization of the Year Schaumburg Boomers and the Cook County Farm Bureau are pleased to announce a Charitable Food Drive at Boomers Stadium the weekend of August 8 - August 10 to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Boomers fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the ballpark at any game that weekend.

As the county’s largest general farm organization, Cook County Farm Bureau® is dedicated to bridging the gap between farmers and urban consumers.  Through education programs targeting youth and their parents and programs designed to connect farmers with potential consumers, Farm Bureau members are actively engaging in conversations about food and the shared values between farmers and consumers.

The Boomers return home to Schaumburg for a three-game set against the Joliet Slammers on Friday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. with Star Wars Night and FIREWORKS presented by COUNTRY Financial and 104.3 K-HiTS. The fun continues with a Jimmy Buffett Night doubleheader at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 with post-game fireworks presented by COUNTRY Financial and 104.3 K-HiTS, and the weekend concludes with Family Sunday and I Love Prairie Chickens Day at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 13.

Tickets to experience the fun and excitement of Schaumburg Boomers Baseball are on sale now over the phone at 847.461.3695, online at tickets.boomersbaseball.com or in person at the Boomers Stadium Box Office located at 1999 Springinsguth Road in Schaumburg.
