SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – For the second straight September, Chicago baseball legends will invade Schaumburg Boomers Stadium for the Larry A. Pogofsky All-Star Softball Challenge to benefit Chicago White Sox Charities and Cubs Charties on Saturday, September 6 at 4 p.m.

With names like Ozzie Guillen, Jermaine Dye, and Ray Durham others representing the South Siders, and Billy Williams, Bill Madlock, Carlos Zambrano and Ryan Dempster and many more from the North Side, it’s a can’t-miss event as these baseball greats battle for charity and softball glory right here at beautiful Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg.

The 2014 LAP Chicago All-Star Softball Challenge will take place on Saturday, September 6th at 4:00 p.m. at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg, Illinois. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $50 for a VIP admission, which includes priority seating and a premium item.

Prior to the game, young fans will have the chance to take part in an on-field baseball skills clinic hosted by the Bulls/Sox Academy. Kids will have the opportunity to experience the true nature of baseball, consisting of base running, batting, and fielding drills.

“My father, Larry A. Pogofsky, was the biggest die-hard baseball fan I know,” said Ben Pogofsky, son and founder of the Larry A. Pogofsky Chicago All-Star Softball Challenge, “The LAP Foundation honors his legacy by supporting local Chicago charities and creating new memories for families around the annual Chicago All-Star Softball Challenge.

“As one of the original White Sox investors from the Reinsdorf group, Larry was a die-hard baseball fan who loved and respected the game. The Pogofsky family created this foundation because of his love for the sport and the impact he had on the city of Chicago.
