RECAP: Boomers Drill Grizzlies to Claim Series
SAUGET, Ill.  — The 2013 Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, broke out the bats and set new franchise standards in an 18-7 road win over the Gateway Grizzlies on Sunday to win the key series.

Gerard Hall homered three times in the game, setting a single game team record and matching a league mark. Hall homered in the second to open the scoring and added a solo homer in the fourth and a two run blast in the sixth. Schaumburg hit seven homers in the game to set a new franchise record. Joe De Pinto notched a pair of two run homers with Michael Valadez and Tony Delmonico also collecting longballs. The Boomers matched a team record with 18 hits and 18 runs. With the game tied 1-1, Schaumburg moved ahead 13-2 to pull away.

The Boomers received hits from every member of the starting lineup Valadez, De Pinto, and Hall all recorded four RBIs. Hall narrowly missed a fourth homer in the eighth, hitting a ball off the wall. Charle Rosario was the beneficiary of the run support, working six innings to earn his first win of the season, striking out eight. Anthony Smith, Heith Hatfield, and Dexter Price finished out the decision. Price appeared in his 38th game to set a new team mark. The series win marked the first ever at GCS Ballpark for the Boomers. Gateway received four ejections in the game.
