Gerard Hall Named Frontier League Player of the Week

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — After bashing six homers in seven games, shortstop Gerard Hall of the Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, was named the Frontier League’s Player of the Week, it was announced today.

Over the last eight days, the Boomers switch-hitting shortstop sports a sizzling .586 average (17-for-29) to go along with six home runs and 20 RBI. Hall is currently in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak dating back to August 16 and has raised his average up to .266 during this impressive stretch.

The man who collected the first hit in Schaumburg Boomers history belted three home runs in a 4-for-5 performance on August 17 and drove in 10 runs over the past two days with a triple and four RBI on Saturday, August 23 and six more runs batted in to go along with a home run and a triple in a 5-for-5 effort on Sunday, August 24.

Hall, 26, returned to Schaumburg for his third season in #Boomerica after spending the first half of the 2014 season as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. A leader on the field and in the clubhouse on the 2013 Championship Team, the 5-foot-9 infielder was also one of five Boomers to represent the West Division at the 2013 Frontier League All-Star Game and prior to calling Schaumburg home spent two seasons in the Kansas City Royals organization out of Old Dominion University.

In 166 career regular season games as a member of the Boomers, Hall owns a .271/.338/.400 slash line with 38 doubles, 17 homers and 99 RBI. Over his six seasons as a professional, Hall has racked up 344 hits in 374 games with 85 doubles, 15 triples and 21 homers.
