PLAYOFFS BEGIN SATURDAY AT 7:30 VS. LAKE ERIE

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks open the 2014 Frontier League Playoffs at Boomers Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 against the Lake Erie Crushers following the LAP All-Star Challenge.

TICKETS ON SALE NOW

With River City completing a three-game sweep of Florence and by virtue of the Rascals holding the tiebreaker over the Boomers for the West Division crown, the Boomers become the 3-seed and will play a single-elimination, winner advances game against the 6-seed, the Lake Erie Crushers on Saturday. The Boomers finished tied for the best record in the Frontier League at 61-35 and failed to win the division despite winning 13 of the last 14 games of the season.

Tickets for the fun and excitement of playoff baseball are available now, and with free parking, $7 lawn seats and $10 box seats when purchased in advance, there's no reason not to plan a trip to #Boomerica on Saturday. The matchup with Lake Erie is a rematch of the 2013 Frontier League Championship Series, which the Boomers swept in three-games to claim Schaumburg's first-ever pro baseball championship.

The Boomers playoff game follows the second-annual LAP All-Star Challenge which pits Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs legends against each other on the baseball field once again for a charity softball game. Come see your favorite South Side and North Side alums duke it out for an afternoon of fun for a great cause as all proceeds benefit Cubs & White Sox Charities in memory of the late Larry A Pogofsky.
