Boomers to Play Doubleheader Wednesday

SCHAUMBURG, ILL. -- The two-time defending Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, announce that the game August 18 against Traverse City has been suspended in the bottom of the second inning.

As a result, the Boomers and Beach Bums will play a doubleheader Wednesday, August 19 at Boomers Stadium. The remainder of tonight's nine inning game will be played Wednesday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM with a seven inning game following the conclusion of the first tilt. The Boomers are projected to start LHP Peter Gehle (2-5, 6.16 ERA) at some point tomorrow, while Traverse City RHP Kramer Champlin (7-6, 1.80 ERA) is next in line for the Beach Bums.

Tickets from August 18 are now rain checks which can be exchanged at the Boomers Stadium box office for any future regular season home game, based on availability.

Ensure your place in the fun by calling (847) 461-3695 (FOWL). All games can again be heard on AM 1410 WRMN with the voice of the Boomers, Tim Calderwood. Broadcasts begin with a 15-minute online only highlight show followed by a 15-minute pregame radio show.
