Sauget Illinois- The Frontier League is proud to announce the 2015 Hall of Fame inductees. The ceremonies will take place at the 2015 All Star Game Luncheon, held in Schaumburg, IL. on July 15, 2015. The Hall of Fame committee uses three categories for their selections, players, special contributors, and historic moments in League history. The committee has chosen five former players, Mike Breyman, Bobby Chandler, Stephen Holdren, Jason James, and Chris Sidick. They also have chosen one special contributor, Bob Wolfe, and the 2002 All- Star Game Home Run Derby as the special moment in league history.

He was a post-season All-Star in 2007-2009.

Chris Sidick played for The Washington Wild Things from 2005-2011. He had a  .285 career average, 635 hits, 434 runs, 257 RBI’s and 166 stolen bases. Sidick  holds many of the League’s career records. He has the records for games played, at bats, runs scored, and hits, and was a Post-Season All-Star in 2006.

This year’s special contributor is Bob Wolfe. He was a co-founder of the League in 1992. Throughout his years with the League, he partnered in and was the GM of the Zanesville Greys, 1993 Frontier League champions. He was also an Executive of The Year and served as League Treasurer from 1993-2011. The League’s Executive of the Year Award is named for him.

This year’s special moment will highlight the 2002 All-Star game Home Run Derby. The game was held in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  The night prior to the Frontier League All-Star Game, the MLB All-Star Game ended in a tie. The League owners in attendance determined that the FL All-Star Game should never end in a tie. To that end,  a Home Run Derby was designed to be the tie breaker. The game did end in a tie and the Home Run Derby took place. Fans and players were amazed at the excitement that was generated. Brody Jackson of the River City Rascals hit the eventual game winner for the West Division. The Derby drew national attention for the League through print, tv and internet media.

The 2015 Frontier League All-Star Game will be sponsored by Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, P.C. There are many events prior to the Wednesday night game, including the Bill Lee Open Golf Tournament  on Tuesday, July 14 at Schaumburg Golf Club, followed by The Home Run Derby and post-game concert by Hi Infidelity that evening. The Hall of Fame Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, at the Hyatt Regency in Schaumburg, with Chicago Blackhawks President and CEO John McDonough as the keynote speaker.
