Four Boomers Named to Frontier League All-Star Team

SCHAUMBURG, IL – The two-time defending Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, are proud to announce four Boomers players have been voted into the 2015 Frontier League All-Star Game. The game will be held on Wednesday, July 15 at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg, Illinois, and is presented by Salvi, Schostok, and Pritchard, P.C.

Among the Boomers selected is second baseman Jordan Dean, who leads all active Boomers with a .319 batting average, tied for fourth in the Frontier League with 12 doubles, and is third on the Boomers with 20 RBI. A 2014 All-Star selection as well, Dean is the Boomers all-time leader in stolen bases with 34 steals.

Also chosen to represent the West Division is Boomers ace Eddie Cody. The Boomers all-time leader in win percentage (.867), Cody is tied for third in the league with five wins this year and ranks fifth among Frontier League pitchers with a 2.63 ERA so far this year.

Joining the Boomers that will get to play in front of the Boomers Stadium home crowd is catcher Michael Valadez. A 2014 All-Star who has been with the Boomers since the franchise’s inception in 2012, Valadez sits atop the Boomers record book with 254 games played and 218 hits.

Additionally, Boomers outfielder Craig Massey was selected by West Division manager James Frisbie as one of the final three All-Stars. Massey, a Frontier League Rookie, ranks among the top five Boomers in nearly every offensive category with a .307 average, 28 runs, and 18 RBIs in addition to a team-best 12 stolen bases.

Accompanying the four Boomers players on the West Division All-Star team will be Boomers Manager Jamie Bennett, hitting coach Cam Roth, pitching coach TJ Nall, and bench coach Derek Shomon. The West Teams’ Athletic Trainer will be Kyle Watson, also from the Schaumburg Boomers.
