Boomers and 'Belters Rained Out

NORMAL, Ill.  — The two-time defending Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, had a scheduled road afternoon game with the Normal CornBelters on Wednesday postponed due to inclement weather.

The teams will play a pair of contests on Thursday night at the regularly scheduled 6:35 p.m. time. Both games will be seven innings in length. Schaumburg owns a record of 0-4 against Normal this season. The rainout marks the fourth of the season for the Boomers, three of which have come on the road. Schaumburg was last rained out at Rockford on June 20 and split a doubleheader the next day. The Boomers own a 2-4 record in doubleheaders this season with a 2-2 mark on the road. Schaumburg is 16-14 all-time in twinbills.

Schaumburg (20-26) will send RHP Brett Mabry (3-2, 3.42) and RHP Raul Jacobson (0-1, 4.86) to the hill in both contests tomorrow while Normal is scheduled to start LHP Stephen Frey (1-1, 2.84) in the opener and former Boomer LHP Kevin Brahney (4-2, 4.17) in the second contest.
