Kronenfeld Named Player of the Week

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Schaumburg Boomers designated hitter Paul Kronenfeld earned Frontier League Player of the Week honors for the week of July 11-18.

Kronenfeld came out of the All-Star break on fire, going 8-18 in his last five games including one home run and eight RBI. Just past the halfway point of the season, Kronenfeld is Schaumburg’s leader in home runs, RBI and total bases. Kronenfeld has posted a .275 batting average with nine home runs and 41 RBI on the year. He ranks in the top five in the league for doubles (16) and extra-base hits (26). Kronenfeld was drafted in the 25th round by the Cincinnati Reds out of Catawba College in 2014.

He’s the second Boomer’s player to earn a weekly award this season as fellow All Star, starter Kagen Hopkins earned Pitcher of the Week before the All Star Break.
