Boomers Split Wednesday Doubleheader

FLORENCE, Ky. — The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, split a scheduled road doubleheader on Wednesday, losing the opener 6-0 before tallying a 2-1 victory in 10 innings to salvage a split.

A pinch hit homer leading off the bottom of the seventh tied the game. Paul Kronenfeld put Schaumburg ahead with a sacrifice fly in the 10th to score Matt Petrone with the winning run. Jake Joyce claimed the win in relief, striking out five in two innings of work.
