2016 ChiTown Throwdown Food Drive

The Schaumburg Boomers have officially kicked off the 2016 ChiTown Throwdown Food Drive, benefiting the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Fans are asked to help the Boomers “take a strike at hunger” this fall for area families this season. For added competition the Boomers will also be competing against fellow Frontier League teams, the Windy City Thunderbolts and the Joliet Slammers, for the most fan donations.

Fans may bring donations of boxed and canned food items to Boomers Stadium VIP Entrance between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday-Friday until November 18th. Donate-able items include, but are not limited to, oatmeal, whole grain pastas, brown rice, low sodium soups, canned vegetables, canned chicken/tuna, all-natural peanut butter, and canned fruit. Items with expired expiration dates will not be accepted. Donations provided will help provide food to the over 71,500 people that rely on the Northern Illinois Food Bank in the Chicagoland area.

Fans who donate an item will receive one undated ticket voucher, valid for a 2017 regular season Boomers game (maximum of 10 complimentary tickets). All donated items will be given to area families who are in need this fall and winter season. The Boomers are requesting that items be donated by Friday, November 18.
