Boomers Bennett Signed by San Francisco Giants

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.  — The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, are pleased to announce that T.J. Bennett has been signed by the San Francisco Giants organization.

Bennett, 23, played 51 games with the Boomers in 2015 posting a .290 average and racking up 20 RBIs. Bennett will look to continue the solid defensive play he established in Schaumburg while continuing to improve at the plate as his career takes him to affiliated baseball. Bennett joins Mark Nelson as the second Boomer in as many years to be signed by the Giants organization.

Before finding his groove with the Boomers in the second half of 2015, Bennett, the Mesa, Arizona native, played one game for the Joplin Blasters in 2015 after playing for the Gateway Grizzlies in 2014.
