Boomers Announce Open Tryout Date for 2016

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, announce the date for the club’s open tryout for free agents in 2016.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

Cost: $50

Registration will take place on the day of the tryout and the cost is $50 per player. Players must arrive in baseball attire and supply their own wooden bats, gloves and cleats, and catchers must provide their own gear. The Boomers will supply batting helmets and baseballs. 

Upon arriving, players should enter through the VIP Entrance for registration. Position player tryouts will be held first at 10 a.m. with pitchers to follow at 12 p.m. The Boomers will invite select players back for a second tryout as necessary. Participants in both tryouts are vying to earn a spot on the Boomers 34-man Spring Training Roster, which will be trimmed to a maximum of 24 players.

The Schaumburg Boomers begin their quest to bring the Frontier League Championship back to Schaumburg on Friday, May 20th at 6:30 p.m. against the Windy City Thunderbolts featuring post-game fireworks and run-the-bases.
