Ruchim Contract Purchased by Chicago White Sox

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.  — The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, are pleased to announce that the contract of outfielder Kyle Ruchim has been purchased by the Chicago White Sox.

Ruchim, 23, had a tremendous rookie season with the Boomers in 2015. The Buffalo Grove product appeared in 60 games for the Boomers posting a solid .304 batting average, recording 66 hits and 22 runs scored. Ruchim was second in doubles (18) and tied for third on the team in home runs (3).  An All- Big Ten performer at Northwestern University, Ruchim was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals organization in the 39th round of the 2014 MLB draft.

Ruchim is already the second Boomer to join the MLB affiliated ranks in 2016 following infielder T.J. Bennett’s signing with the San Francisco Giants in March.
