SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, banged out 14 hits but could not pull out a decision in an 8-6 loss at the hands of the Windy City ThunderBolts.

The score held at 2-0 until Windy City erupted for seven runs on six hits in the fifth inning after owing just a single hit entering the inning. The ThunderBolts sent 12 men to the plate in the outburst. Schaumburg answered with three in the bottom of the inning on a two-run double from Robinson and an RBI single from Paul Kronenfeld but could not overcome the deficit.
