Boomers Owner Patrick Salvi Wins Tommy Lasorda Legends Award

The owner of the Schaumburg Boomers, Patrick Salvi, has added yet another accolade to his impressive baseball resume. On Monday, Salvi was awarded the inaugural Tommy Lasorda Legends Award. The award was created by the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame to honor contributions that a person has made to the game of baseball.

"The growth and success of the Schaumburg Boomers is a direct result of Pat's leadership," said Boomers President / General Manager Pete Laven, "It is great to see him recognized for his dedication to his teams and the game of baseball."

Salvi entered the world of minor league baseball in 2008 when he purchased the Gary Southshore Railcats, and expanded his sports enterprise in in 2011 and 2012 to include 100% interest in both the Schaumburg Boomers and the North Shore Navigators respectively. Under Salvi, the Boomers won back to back championships and 2013, and 2014 while being named the Frontier League Organization of the Year in 2013.

Salvi has had great success in baseball beyond the Boomers as well. As owner of the Gary South Shore Railcats, an independent team in the American Association, Salvi won another League Championship in 2013. The Northshore Navigators of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League were named the Organization of the Year in 2015. This gives Salvi owned teams three League Championships, and two Organization of the Year awards since 2008.
