Boomers Stopped at Joliet

JOLIET, IL — The Schaumburg Boomers saw a four-game win streak come to an end in the middle game against the Joliet Slammers, dropping a 2-0 decision on the road.

Joliet jumped ahead in the bottom of the second on a two-run homer, the only runs of the night. Both pitchers battled but the Boomers could not break through. Schaumburg placed runners on base in six different frames but stranded seven. Starter Andrew Dean retired 11 in a row at one point but suffered the loss despite allowing just four hits while not walking a batter and striking out four. Matt McGarry reached base three times in the defeat with a pair of walks and a single.
