Boomers Add New Catcher For 2022

Schaumburg, IL - The Schaumburg Boomers have acquired catcher Marshall Skinner via trade. Skinner will be looking to help the Boomers defend their Frontier League Championship this season.

Marshall Skinner will be playing his first season with the Schaumburg Boomers after being traded from the Gary SouthShore Railcats of the American Association. Skinner played three seasons for the Northwestern State University Demons baseball team. For the Demons, Skinner batted .260 with an on-base percentage of .356 in 103 games. During the 2021 season, Skinner played for the Gary SouthShore RailCats, where he batted .100 with an on-base percentage of .229 in 14 games.

“I am glad to give Marshall an opportunity here with us. He is a very solid guy behind the plate and I’m looking forward to watching him come in and compete,” said Manager Jamie Bennett.

The Boomers return home to Wintrust Field in the spring looking to defend their 2021 Frontier League Championship.
