Boomers Edged in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The 2021 Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers suffered a one-run loss at the hands of the Evansville Otters on Wednesday night by a 3-2 score as Evansville secured a ninth consecutive victory.

Schaumburg took the lead in the top of the second on three straight singles. William Salas drove home Braxton Davidson for the first run of the game. Evansville tied the game in the bottom of the third. A sacrifice fly from Alec Craig brought home Clint Hardy in the fourth to again put the Boomers in front but Evansville scored in back-to-back frames, grabbing the lead on a solo homer from George Callil.

Aaron Glickstein worked six innings and suffered the hard luck loss. Kristian Scott and Luis Perez each threw perfect innings in relief. Five different players posted hits for the Boomers. Hardy extended his hitting streak to nine games.

The Boomers (23-23) conclude the series tomorrow night at 6:35 pm with RHP Kyle Arjona on the mound. The team returns to Wintrust Field for a six-game homestand on Friday. Tickets for the 2022 season are on sale now! Visit boomersbaseball.com.
