Dawson Added to All-Star Team

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The 2021 Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers are proud to announce the addition of Chase Dawson to the West Division team at the Frontier League All-Star Game, hosted by the Washington Wild Things on July 20.

Dawson set the Frontier League single season record for triples on Wednesday, accomplishing the feat in just 51 games. Dawson has connected on 17 three-baggers, surpassing the record of 16 set by Hall of Famer Chris Sidick with the Washington Wild Things in 2006, who roped 16 in 95 contests.

Dawson, a postseason All-Star last year, currently owns a .313 average with a homer and a team best 36 RBIs. The Valparaiso University product has amassed 65 hits and scored 41 runs while spending time in the outfield and infield for the Boomers. Dawson also owns 13 doubles and is a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen base attempts while slugging .553 and posting an on-base percentage of .390. The Northwest Indiana native has also drawn 17 walks while being hit by a pitch 10 times.

Dawson joins Darell Thompson and Matt Bottcher on the team. Bottcher was selected as the starting second baseman.

The Boomers (27-25) cap the series and the homestand with the rubber game on Wednesday night at 6:30 pm. RHP Blake Stelzer (4-2, 3.60) is scheduled to start for the Boomers against RHP Justin Watland (4-3, 4.13). It’s Pro Wrestling Night at Wintrust Field featuring special appearances by former WWE Universal Champion Adam Scherr (known as Braun Strowman in WWE) and IMPACT Wrestling’s Eric Young.
