Boomers Select Czeslawski & Nicol in 2026 Frontier League Draft

The Schaumburg Boomers selected right-handed pitcher Johnny Czeslawski and catcher Jeff Nicol in yesterday's Frontier League Draft.

Czeslawski was chosen with the 16th overall pick in the first round. A native of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Czeslawski brings a mix of collegiate and summer league experience to the Boomers pitching staff. He pitched at the University of Illinois Springfield after beginning his collegiate career at North Iowa Area Community College. Czeslawski has appeared in multiple summer leagues throughout his career, gaining valuable innings against strong competition as he continues to develop on the mound.

Nicol was selected with the 34th overall pick in the second round. The catcher is from Wolcott, Connecticut, and played collegiately at Central Connecticut State University. Over four seasons, Nicol produced consistently at the plate, compiling a .277 batting average with 101 hits, 81 runs batted in and a .387 on-base percentage. He also spent time in summer leagues, further refining his game on both sides of the ball.
