Boomers Sign Utility Freeman
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers have signed utility player Taylor Freeman for the 2026 season. Freeman joins the Boomers after a standout collegiate career at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.
A native of Wisconsin, Freeman appeared in 155 games across four seasons at Lawrence, primarily playing second base and shortstop. Over his college career, he posted a .349 batting average with 210 hits, 163 RBIs, 101 stolen bases and a 1.081 OPS. Freeman also showed power at the plate, totaling 41 doubles and 23 home runs during his time with the Vikings.
During the 2025 season, Freeman hit .436 with a .531 on-base percentage and a .792 slugging percentage in 39 games. He added 65 hits, 48 RBIs, and 35 stolen bases while helping lead Lawrence offensively.
Freeman also spent time in the Northwoods League with Fond du Lac during the 2025 summer season.
