Boomers Sign Omaha Native Henry Zipay

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – The Schaumburg Boomers have signed infielder Henry Zipay for the 2026 season.

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Zipay joins the Boomers following a standout collegiate career at the University of Nebraska Omaha. The versatile infielder appeared in 161 games over four seasons with the Mavericks, posting a .330 batting average with 186 hits, 71 RBIs, 107 runs scored, and a .878 OPS.

Zipay enjoyed one of his best seasons in 2025, batting .384 with a .475 on-base percentage and a .551 slugging percentage while driving in 25 runs. His performance earned Summit League Player of the Year honors and First Team All-Summit League recognition after reaching base safely in 32 consecutive games.

During the 2026 campaign, Zipay continued to be a key contributor for Omaha, hitting .344 with 62 hits, 27 RBIs, 33 runs scored, and a .877 OPS in 47 games. His ability to play multiple infield positions and consistently reach base made him one of the Mavericks’ most reliable offensive threats.

Prior to Omaha, Zipay also gained experience at Iowa Western Community College and has spent time playing summer collegiate baseball, giving him a strong foundation as he begins his professional career with Schaumburg.
